Microsoft: Sony PS3 Sales will never catch up 'For Entire Generation'

Microsoft: Xbox 360 Will Outsell PS3 'For Entire Generation'

Let the shit-talking begin: Microsoft Xbox 360 director of product management Aaron Greenberg threw some serious blows(more like an Haaadooouken)in an interview with Game Informer, calling Sony's anticipated leading September PS3 sales "a short term bump."

"It is not a real concern to us," said Greenberg, acknowledging the likelihood of Sony's top slot sales numbers and adding "This is frankly not a real surprise to us or the analysts that follow this industry."

"What I can tell you is we remain confident that Xbox 360 will not only outsell PS3 for the full calendar year, but for this entire generation. It is similar to a game of baseball, it is not about just winning one inning, but instead being able to win the game by consistently delivering across all nine innings."

Microsoft has had a very strong performance over the past three quarters--it's the only console with year-over-year unit increases in a bad economy--it would indeed take an act of God for Sony to pull ahead in annual sales by the year's close. But as Greenberg says, it's the big picture that matters, and for the moment, Microsoft owns US sales by a unit ratio of roughly 2 to 1

There is one statement that Aaron Greenberg makes that really bugs me, Greenberg states: that success comes down to "much more than just hardware sales...it's about the entire ecosystem and investing in the future." Which is true but Sony has been investing in their gaming future ever since December 2004 and Nintendo a lot longer. Microsoft venture into Gaming is still relatively short compared to Sony and Nintendo. Sony may never catch up to Xbox 360 but they will slowly chop away at Microsoft 360 lead.

Sony PS3 Japanese Domination inevitable in 2009

Sony's sales numbers in the the US are currently a bleak affair if you tend to believe the mainstream media. With the recent announcement of God of War III, MAG, Uncharted II and Heavy Rain all appearing before year end this will help Sony number's rebound in the US. The enviable price cut that is due to arrive in Spring 2009 or before the end of Summer 2009 will also help catapult Sony PS3 sales to adjust to the market.

Sony currently has a very strong lineup of exclusives in Japan that has appeared at the end of last year . Sony Japanese lineup is currently helping Sony gather market share they have losted. Beginning with White Knight Chronicles or "Shirokishi Monogatari: Inishie no Kodou" which was released December 25, 2008. WKC was released to average reviews and pretty good sale with over 330K units sold in Japan only.

The story of White Knight Chronicles begins in the kingdom of Balandor, where a princess's coming-of-age banquet is raided by an evil Corporation called Wizard. A boy called Leonard grabs the princess's hand and leads her to safety in the castle cellars, where he finds a strange suit of armor that transforms him into the White Knight – an ancient warrior with the strength to defeat the Wizard corporation forces. Leonard’s transformation into a mighty hero, the White Knight, is the beginning of a life-changing fantasy experience, fighting against the fiercest enemies

Demon Soul the second title in Sony's exclusive tsunami, was released January 26th 2009 with a mere 39K sales to date according to VGchartz. Demon's Souls is an action RPG which pits you against the forces of The Old One as you fight to save humanity from extinction. It's a darker version of Oblivion.

Next is Street Fighter IV released in Japan on February 12, 2009 for the Sony PS3 with 86K copies sold just in the first day in Japan only. Street Fighter IV biggest edge in Japan will be the fact you have the option to play online for FREE. And beside Street Fighter series is a Japanese icon. It's debatable which series is more convented in Japan Mario or Street Fighter?

Ryū ga Gotoku 3 from Sega aka Yakuza 3 will be released JP February 26,in Japan only. Ryū ga Gotoku 3 demo is currently on the Japanese PSN ready for download. Ryū ga Gotoku 3 takes a departure from the first two games with its choice of setting: instead of focusing on the gritty cityscape of Tokyo, it switches gears and sends Kiryu to the tropical island of Okinawa, where he runs a center for orphaned children with his adoptive daughter Haruka. Yakuza 3 will also have a tie in with numerous tanning salons throughout Japan.

With a steady stream of exclusives arriving in Japan Sony almost every month. Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii is currently neck and neck with sales for all of 2009. The Nintendo Wii has a total of 21,008 total units shipped in Japan compared to Sony PS3 with 19,089 according to VGchartz and Xbox 360 with only 9,999 for all of 2009 so far. This does not take into account God of War III, Uncharted II and Heavy Rain which is all due to arrive by the end of this year.

Has the insane momentum that has propel the Wii in the Japan slowed down? And has Sony finally begin to recapture their strength in their "Home" turf? I guess we will have to wait unti the end of the year to see.

Fanboy, Fan or Pitchman what's the difference?

Well, if you've been a avid reader of NanoGeekTech one thing may come to mind, damn this "MoFo" is a fanboy? But what really is a Fanboy? Are we all fanboies/girls at heart?

According to Wikipedia, a Fanboy is a term used to describe any individual who is devoted to a single subject in an emotional or fanatical manner, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession.

A Pitchman is a man who makes a sales pitch: as a: one who sells merchandise on the streets or from a concession b: one who does radio or TV commercials, according to Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

A Fan, aficionado, or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking and enthusiasm for a sporting club, person (usually a celebrity), group of persons, company, product, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing or person constitute its fan base or fandom. They often show their enthusiasm by starting a fan club, holding fan conventions, creating fanzines, writing fan mail, or promoting the object of their interest and attention, sites Wikipedia.

If I prefer my Sony PS3 over a Nintendo Wii am I being a fanboy? "Maybe" But I also prefer Coke over Pepsi, NY Giants over the Redskins, Blue versus Yellow, a soft pillow versus a hard pillow, Summer versus Winter, money versus no money, Wordpress versus Blogspot, you get the point.

Fanboy is a term that is constantly spouted and dropped online for gamers who prefers a specific console or how passionately they defend their choice. One of the founding principle of any free society is the freedom of choice. We as gamers and people have a choice for the most part. What makes my choice better than yours? Nothing at all, it's all about perception.

So the bottom line I prefer my Sony PS3 over my Xbox 360 and a Craptendo Wii. Am I a fanboy, fan or pitchman?

-Andrew Oliver
Co-Founder & C.T.O., Blitz Games Studios Ltd.

Sony alongside with RealD 3D, Avid, 3alitydigital, Pace, IMAX, NEC, Virtual Images and Dolby 3D are making huge strides with 3D cinema technology. Sony has recently released a Single-projector 3D adaptor for Sony 4K Projector late last year. Sony's new adaptor uses the full height of Sony’s 4K imaging device, with the ability to display full 2K images for the left and right eye simultaneously and in parallel, from top and bottom.

So what does this have to do with the Sony PS3? The PS3 is a modern day version of the Trojan horse. What do I mean you ponder? Will as you can see Sony has a heavily invested interest in Blu-ray technology even though sales of Video Games eclipse DVD/Blu-ray in 2008. According to reports, Blu-ray sales will see an increase of double the sales in 2009. For 3D movies to make the transition from movie theaters to our living room, the technology needs to be in place.

Currently they are over 19+ million PS3 owners with access to a blu-ray player burning current in homes all across the world. With 3D movies adding additional cost to overall production the movies studios need to make their money back. At this year CES 2009, 3D was the rave most importantly 3D HD Television displays.

With 3D Television sets already on the market and building steam. Blu-ray is one of the only media storage device that will help usher in 3D movies in our living rooms. They are currently 29 big budget 3D movies slated for 2009-2011.

In December 2008, Pioneer Corporation unveiled a 400 GB Blu-ray disc, which contains 16 data layers, 25 GB each, and will be compatible with current players after a firmware update(PS3). A planned launch is in the 2009-2010 time frame for ROM and 2010-2013 for rewritable discs. Ongoing development is under way to create a 1 TB Blu-ray disc as soon as 2013. Movies will capitalize on the massive storage space of Blu-ray at first and True HD 3D will be part of the process.

So lets review, Big Budget 3D movies are right around the corner(check), 3D television HD sets are on the market now and building steam(check), Blu-ray storage space will be increase just in time for big budget movies(check), and most importantly there is about 25+ million blu-ray players including Sony PS3 in homes around the globe(check).

Once 3D movies land on blu-ray, video games will only soon follow. Andrew Oliver Chief Technology Officer and Neil Schneider President & CEO of Blitz game Studios has confirm that Sony "Fully intends" to support stereoscopic 3d gaming and Blu-ray for the Sony PS3. According to Neil Schneider "The best part is console support will only need a bios to work, and we are told that the ability to add this capability via bios may be unique to Sony PS3 versus other console solutions". This is evidence that with a single firmware update Sony can make all PS3s True 3D HD players for movies and games.

Being that firmware update 3.0 will land sometime this year can we expect to see 3D in firmware 3.0?

What is Sony planning for firmware update 3.0?

First off, I would like to state I have no clue what Sony will be planning for the big "firmware update 3.0" but it would be interesting to let the speculation begin. I have been pondering this for a minute and it's an interesting position Sony could be in to make some game changing moves.

If you think about it, firmware update 3.0 in theory should be Sony's most defining evolution in it's hardware lifespan. Could be see 3D upgrade to watch Blu-ray movies in 3D a precursor to 3D games? As the economy continues it's rapid spiral towards "financial doomsday" Sony is feeling the pinch. Even though Blu-ray sales are doing good and Sony PS3 sales are still on a steady pace upwards, the PS3 gets it's ass kicked by the mainstream media and fanboies on a daily basis.

Going from King to pauper can be somewhat traumatic and sometimes tragic. Sony has to do something spectacular to garner some "ohhhs", "ahhhhhs" and most importantly increase interest in their brand. With KillZone2 right around the corner, and some great multi platform games within spitting distance 2009 looks like the year to unleash the beast with "firmware 3.0"
3.0 may arrive sometime this Fall of 2009 alongside the killer exclusive game lineup. I would love to see more game centric features added as part of firmware update 3.0, such as

-cross chat with friends.

-access the Internet browser while in game.

-PIP play game and or watch blu-ray at the same time.

-Customizable PSN interface. ie: make it easier to change icons, change start up sound form chime to your own music.

-Use my content on HDD or the PS3 Eyetoy to customize my PSN user icon.

-I will like to see a revamp PSN. Maybe integrated PSN into HOME ie: start your PS3 and it will greet you and you can also use your avatar to interact with start up menu.

-Access to any PS3 feature while in game without having to quit game.

-In game video chat using PIP

-Ability to play all video codec

-A better Adobe flash so I can listen to ESPN radio on my PS3

-Minority Report style interface with PSN start up menu.

No one knows for sure what Sony has planned for firmware update 3.0. There will be a great flood of hype and speculation about Sony's plans with "3.0". I'll have to say it will be interesting to see what Sony will do? Would they make a big deal out of 3.0 as a gaming changing aspect for the industry and the masses? Or would Sony do absolutely nothing and firmware 3.0 would just be released to help with the stability of the PS3. I believe there will be something game changing when firmware 3.0 is introduce how gaming changing only time and Sony will tell. What are your thoughts?

Video Games sales KO DVD/Blu-ray sales in 2008

Video Games outpaced DVD/Blu-ray sales for the first time on a global scale in 2008. According to, Media Control GfK international game sales grew 20% in 2008, to $32 billion. Combined DVD/Blu-ray sales fell 6%, to $29 billion. You can very well bet "your left whatever" that Nintendo had a great hand in the pawange of DVD/Blu-ray.

GfK is also reporting, that game software will grow to 12% this year, to about $36 billion, while DVD and Blu-ray combined will decline another 4%. I will have to say looking at Sony's list of exclusives in 2009 and the cash machine they called the "Wii". It only makes sense that software sales will grow in 2009.

Even though Blu-ray sales may seem like it may be suffering. Blu-ray sales will more than double in 2009 hitting $2.9 billion, according to GkK.

Sony PS3 Japanese Exclusive Preview

The Japanese PS3 owners has it good. The Japanese PSN store has about double the content of the US PSN Store. So I decided to do a little research and see what we will be missing here in the states.

Some of these games may never see the light of day here in the states, but being that the Sony PS3 is region free my friends we have absolutely nothing to worry about.

NanoGeekTechTV presents: Opening Intro to Killzone 2

If you have just awaken from your coma and just crawled from under your favorite rock, there is a little game that will be arriving February 27th called Killzone 2. There's not too many things that get me excited, a little too laid back for that. But after watching the intro to Killzone 2 I have to officially put the fanboy hat on and say that this can be one of the greatest experiences in gaming history.

Sony's Boss Kaz Hirai VS Microsoft’s Greenberg "War of Words"

I believe the Sony PS3 is a machine that is built to last about ten years. With the recent addition of a very cool Photo Gallery , Divx 3.11 support and HOME shows the extendability of this magnificent beast.

Many throughout the gaming industry has bitch and moan about complex architecture that makes up the PS3. Recently Kez Hirai dismissed Microsoft and Nintendo as competitors because he sees PlayStation as the "official" industry leader. This is absolutely the truth, Sony PS3 is the most technological advance gaming machine/blu-ray/ Digital Audio device on the market.

Kez Hirai also went on to state in the Offical Playstation Magazine "This is not meant in terms of numbers, or who's got the biggest install base, or who's selling most in any particular week or month, but I'd like to think that we continue official leadership in this industry" Sony, wants to change the industry and help take it to the next level. This will be prevalent when Killzone 2 is released next month and the debut of true HD 3D tech this year.

Kez Hirai proceed to take a little more shoots at the competition "It's difficult to talk about Nintendo, because we don't look at their console as being a competitor. They're a different world, and we operate in our world - that's the kind of way I look at things.

"And with the Xbox - again, I can't come up with one word to fit. You need a word that describes something that lacks longevity," he added with a laugh.

Kez Hirai is preaching the truth my people, like it or not PS3 is in a league of its own. Many people would call Kez Hiari statements cocky and ego driven.

Aaron Greenberg told bitbag "This sounds like an old hardware company that’s comfortable with its market position," Aaron also grips "That complacent attitude is out of touch with where the industry and consumer is today."

"This generation won’t be won over just hardware specs, but who can out-innovate when it comes to online and software," he added. "This is the kind of stuff that’s in our DNA, and frankly moves the console war onto our home court."

Greenberg also stated that he's "confident" that Microsoft will outsell the PlayStation 3 throughout the current generation. "I can’t imagine any scenario where the PS3 can catch up with us," he said.

"In fact, even if you doubled the current PS3 sales and Xbox 360 remained flat, they couldn’t close the gap until 2014."

What Microsoft fails to realized besides having as many boxes in the living room, this console war will be decided by, creativity, extendability, functionality, and most importantly technology.

Nintendo and Microsoft storm out the gaming gate with some creativity and limited technology. Now three plus years in, the only console that is currently raising the bar every month is the Sony PS3.

Nintendo as this moment continues to produce and manufacture some of the worst fucking gaming moments know to man. Nintendo should be fucking embarrass with the mountain of garbage they are marketing the the public with their magical cash producing doohickey called the Wii.

The Wii is not built to last ten years and it's obvious. The Wii seems like a public experiment to help Nintendo R&D department see how the real next generation Nintendo console should be and also help finance it.

Microsoft Xbox 360 bolted out the gate with an army of great games. 2009 so far seems like the 360 has lost a tremendous amount of steam. Aaron Greenberg, has to portray value in a system that is on it's way out in next 365 days.

Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009 Part 2

The great thing about "Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009 Part I" as of right now all games mention are exclusive to Sony PS3. Sony is on the brink of delivering one of highest quality, AAA production, year in gaming ever.

Some may think that Sony is on the way out, but 2009 will prove that is not the case. With many more exclusive easing it's way into the public light and new rich features being teased, such as HD 3D gaming.

Here are some more reasons why "Sony will crush all in 2009"

1. Flower

Each level takes place in a different flower's dream as it sits on the windowsill of a dull city apartment. As the player progresses through the game, the apartment and city will gradually become more vibrant and colourful. The player guides a petal through brightly coloured, abstract fields by tilting the motion-sensitive controller, pressing any button on the controller gives a speed boost. The aim is to guide the petal into other flowers in the field, triggering an explosion of colour that spreads through the game world.

2. Team ICO Secret Project

Not much is known about the "Team ICO Secret Project" because it is a "secret". Team ICO usually puts a game out every four years and 2009makes it four years since Team ICO has shown any love for PlayStation. What ever it is it's going to be big and the world will stand still for a few seconds.

3. BBC Repoter "Secert Game"

Do not know anything on this one just like everyone else. I will take Mr. Darren Waters word that this "Uber Secret Super Duper Game"is not vaporware.

4. MAG

Zipper interactive Massive Action Game(stupid ass name I hope it's changed) is a multiplayer online FPS game that may be "Play to Pay". It will be the first console to offer a online FPS that will allow up to 256 players to slaughter each other for a small fee "maybe".

5.Wardevil: Unleash the beast within.

Not much is know about Wardevil beside it is still on it's way before year end. The game will be using a new gaming engine called RTE1080(real time). The WarDevil RTE 1080 has been developed to run at 1920X1080 HD and run 60FPS.

6. DC Universe Online.

Get ready to get your superhero on with all of your favorite DC Universe heroes and villains in Sony second MMO for PS3. This is technically not an exclusive because it is also available for PC.

7. EyePet

If you have a kid or is just pretty lonely human being, EyePet will be here sometime this year to be your virtual companion. There are no shotguns, no blood, no decapitations it's just pure virtual cuteness.

Sony is on the verge of delivering 17 exclusive games that will help change the way we look at current and future games. At the end of 2009 Sony's future will shine brightly again and will regain the throne as King and Queen.

Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009

Happy New Year and what a great year it's going to be a Sony PS3 owner. After CES 2009 Sony has teased the shit out of us with some incredible 3D HD PS3 games. But I digress, what will 2009 bring to the millions of PS3, Wii and 360 owners?

I really cannot say much about what Microsoft have under wraps because as of right now it looks very bleak. Nintendo in my eyes is dead, with an endless stream of shovel ware being propagated across the masses and Nintendo failing in every way not to bring back great classics.

We know for a fact that Sony has some great shit cooking up in secert and currently public information. Microsoft has publicly claim that they would not release a new console anytime soon because of the economy but by the end of this year that propaganda will go waist side.

This will be why "Sony PS3 will crush all" * warning: please try to refrain from screaming with joy, jealously or envy.

1.White Knight Chronicles

The ass stomping has begin a little early. WKC was released technically December 25th 2008 in Japan. White Knight Chronicles can be imported and played on any Sony PS3 worldwide. This year we have a chance to see a true next generation JRPG on a grand scale.

White Knight Chronicles will help satisfy those in need for their Final Fantasy fix. WKC has debut to a pretty good reception. White Knight Chronicles has sold 282,985 in about two plus weeks in Japan only. When WKC arrives States side late 2009 expect mass hysteria.

2. KillZone 2

There not much to say about KZ2 besides it will redefine the FPS experience for years to come. I will leave it at that and let you be the judge.

warning: If you only have a Xbox360 this video will make you trade it in tonight so watch with caution.

Please pick your jaw up it's unbecoming of you.

3.Demon's Soul

Demon's Soul may not be on many radars but as of right now that blip you hear in your head is it. Demon's Soul fits somewhere between Devil May Cry and Oblivion. In a medieval world, you play as a lone hero standing against the forces of darkness in the kingdom of Bokitaria. The region's ruler, King Alant, was clearly meddling in forces he didn't understand in an attempt to keep his northern kingdom prosperous before the inevitable happened: All hell broke loose.

4. Yakuza 3

This latest installment will continue the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza and Yakuza 2. Yakuza for PS is a very popular franchise in Japan with a large following. There is not much known about story but hey it's from Sega and you are a bad ass in the Japanese mafia.

5.The Agency

Sony PS3 first MMO. The Agency pits Elite spies against terrorism, corruption, and rogue states around the globe. There will be different classes to choose from:

* Spec Ops: Both silent and deadly, the spec ops is about stealth, infiltration, disabling security, and such.
* Psy Ops: All about confusing the opponent, tricking and distracting them.
* Weapon Specialist: These guys/girls can use all weapons, and excel at doing so.
* Tactical Specialist: If you need someone to lay down suppression fire, breach doors, you'll need a tactical specialist.
* Field Tech: The field tech builds turrets, repairs armors and such, very compatible with the engineer classes in other First-person shooter games.
* Field Medic: As the title says, these guys/girls can patch you up in no time.

6.Infamous

Star Wars: Force Unleashed meets Grand Theft Auto but with far greater graphics. Infamous follows the story of Cole McGrath, a bike messenger and resident of Empire City. At the start of the game, a package that Cole was assigned to deliver causes a huge explosion that rips apart six city blocks, leaving behind a crater and Cole as the only survivor. The explosion has granted Cole several electricity-based powers, but he falls into unconsciousness, waking up two weeks later to find that Empire City has fallen into chaos; without police, gangs have taken over areas of the city, and a plague has infected many of the residents causing the city to be quarantined by the government.

7.Uncharted: Amongst Thieves

Uncharted: Amongst Thieves will land Fall 2009. The first Uncharted was one of the greatest gaming experiences on any consoles this generation. Nathen Drake is back this time he has 30% more power from his friend the CELL. Uncharted 2 looks really fucking incredible, the jungle will be replaced with war torn city landscapes and snow covered terrain

8.Quantum Theory

If Gears of Wars was to be on the PS3 this is what it will be "Quantum Theory "
Team Tachyon will be using the Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 engine from Team Ninja.

According to Keisuke Kikuchi Team Tachyon president: " So Tecmo, just thinking as whole, Team Ninja has already put out a game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, on the PS3, and internally we've already shared the knowledge, and the know-how, and we're very aware of the technological challenges that they had. So, in a way, we have already been exposed to that.

And moving forward, we think that we can push it to the next level with Quantum Theory. So it's not like we're completely starting from scratch, but the luxury of having a team, internally, that has already worked on a PS3 title, definitely has been a help.
"

8.Ratchet and Clank Future 2

There is not much know about story and expected date. Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty confirms a sequel for Fall 2009. The first R&CF:TOD came very close to a Pixar movie, guess what I am expecting from the second?

9. Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer

Is developed by French studio Quantic Dream for the PlayStation 3. The game is being directed by Quantic Dream's founder and CEO David Cage, who also wrote and directed the studio's two previous games, Omikron: The Nomad Soul and Fahrenheit.

There is no information about the story for Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer. All I have to say it looks good and sounds damn intriguing. Quantic Dream is a AAA developer that takes pride in there products.

10. God Of War III

Should I say more. God of War III may be the most epic experience to land on any console ever. And I leave it at that! video after jump.

Price cuts are for Suckers: Microsoft still making a Killing

"The hard drive in every Xbox killed us; we we're still selling it at $199 and the hard drive was like $70," Moore told UK newspaper The Guardian. "That's why we prematurely left the original Xbox, because the more we were selling – there was still great demand – it was killing us, and there was no way to bring the price down... To this day, people still believe we left the Xbox too early, but it was purely for financial purposes."

Its seems it's officially true fanboys and gals, Microsoft abandoned the original Xbox prematurely to cut their losses. This comes off pretty hash towards the consumer, because it shows what Microsoft truly thinks about my hard earn money and yours.

Peter Moore's assertion that Microsoft deserted the Xbox to cut their losses due to the standard HD. Microsoft's trigger finger portrays a darker and more sinister picture for the Microsoft Xbox 360.

With Microsoft's recent call to arms with a price drop on Xbox 360Arcade(no HD) $199.99, Xbox 360 w/HD $299.99 and Elite Xbox w/120HD and HDMI 360 $399.99. Don't get me wrong, if you would like to jump into next gen gaming Mircosoft has some great deals. The dark and sinister part comes into play from what Microsoft learned for the crash and burn course called the original Xbox. The lesson they learn was the ability to make a shit load of money on accessories especially the Hard Drive.

Now lets break down the price of these so called accessories that you will need to get the FULL Xbox 360 experience.

  • Xbox 360 Arcade sku sells for $199.99 it includes one controller and five arcade games. If you would like to get LIVE and play with the rest of the world including your friends you will need a 20Gb or 120GB Microsoft propriety Hard Drive. A 20GB hard drive will cost $99.99 without tax and a 120GB Hard Drive is $149.99. One extra controller $49.99 and one year for Xbox LIVE $49.99. Your total price for an Arcade Xbox 360 with one year of LIVE an extra controller and a 20GB HD comes to a pre-tax amount of $399.96?

  • Now throw in a Play and Charge Kit for your wireless controller for another $19.99, a wireless headset to talk to your world wide friends for $59.99, a wireless wifi antenna to connect to the Internet $99.99 and the optional Vision camera for video chat for a mere $39.99. Now this does not include the first game that you have to get with your shiny new pimped out next gen gaming console. For a grand total of $599.93 and that still does not include my first game or the next few years of playing LIVE at $49.99 per year.

Before its all said and done you have purchase yourself a Sony PS3 only without a Blu-ray player and a CELL processor. The total cost to be part of the Xbox 360 experience will be the same price of a brand new Sony PS3. Price cuts are pretty good and are always welcome but when you are being gouged on accessories that's just sucks ass.

Edit: GamerPlatform.com is reporting that Target is selling 20GB HD for the Microsoft Xbox360 for $24.99 plus tax.

Top Ten Reasons Why I do not play my Xbox 360...

The Xbox360 has made this era of next generation of gaming a lot more interesting and most importantly if you are a gamer, extremely fun. With competition comes innovation and this means as a Sony PS3 owner or a Microsoft 360 owner we all benefit. Nintendo Wii owners are a different beast, it almost seems like they do not care if they get shitty ass games as long as they can wiggle a remote and bust a sweat. I have some issues with Nintendo I will write about at a later date.

With Microsoft just announcing price cuts on all Xbox360's, a new LIVE experience due by the end of September and the Internet being littered with rumors of a all new Microsoft 720 arriving around 2010-2011. It feels like this is Microsoft Xbox360 last year with any great exclusive game lineups.

There is currently only 1.5 games(yeah 1.5 games) that I am currently looking to purchase on Microsoft Xbox 360 and that is it(nothing else..........). I know you are wondering 1.5 games? How the hell is that possible.....My first Xbox 360 game purchase for this year would be Gear of War II and the maybe Fable II( hence the .5)

When Gear of War II arrives on November 7, 2006, I will be playing my 360 again, right now my PS3 gets all the love and attention in my HOME. It plays movies, entertains the kid, up convert DVDs, store all my movies, and etc. Here is my top ten reasons for not playing my Xbox 360.

  1. Loud as all hell. Every time I turn on my Xbox 360 when it has not been powered up for a while, my 360 sounds like an airplane landing. After playing my PS3 non stop since Christmas 2007 you get use to just only hearing the "beep" when it starts up and when you turn it off. My Sony PS3 is as silent as a Ninja going for the kill. My 360 is louder than two tyrannosaurus rex mating in the wild.

  2. My DVD drive has a mind of its own. If one day I decide to turn my 360, the DVD tray decides to have something to say about that. I can spend a good 15 minutes trying to get my DVD tray open so I can insert a game and play. Its like two virgins trying sex for the first time...it takes a while to get it in....

  3. Xbox 360 Failures: The Inside Story This is a very interesting read. I am not the biggest fan of the big MS( I would purchase the Xbxo720) but this just puts fuel on the fire.

  4. No Games: Who would have guess that at this moment the PS3 has more games that I want to play than the mighty Microsoft Xbox360. In the next 12 months I could count on two hands all the games that are coming out for my PS3 that has me excited. For my 360 I could only think of one game and you guess it, Gear of War II and maybe Fable II.

  5. I like playing online with my friends, a few of my friends has an Xbox 360 and a few have PS3. Most importantly my younger brother is in Germany and he has a 360, its a great way to communicate with him for free. I will never ever pay to play........online with my friends anymore. Ever since playing on the PSN for free with virtually no lag why should I be force to pay. I currently have more friends on my PSN versus LIVE. PC guys and gals who plays any of MS games online play for free. Why do Microsoft fuck console owners I do not understand. Many would say you get what you pay for........yeah and that is called "RROD"

  6. They are no good LIVE games except for Braid(I cannot comment form experience but the Internet loves this game), I have never downloaded any games for LIVE besides Demos. Sony PS3 PSN seems to have much better quality games on the PSN versus LIVE. For example Warhawk, SOCOOM: Confrontation, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty( Beyonce Knowles does not make any special appearances) and Siren: Blood Cruse are great full games that using the power of the PS3 versus getting a gimp ass game that gets boring the first time you press start.

  7. My Hard Drive for my Xbox 360 is only 20GB and that sucks ass through straws. If you want to upgrade to a 120GB you have to spend $144.00 or more. Hell I can get a 320GB Sata 2.5" HD for my PS3 for $85.68.

  8. Ever time I see that stupid ass Jerry Steinfeld and Bill Gates commercial(only saw it about three times over the weekend)....it makes me want to kick my Xbox 360..

  9. By this point you can tell I play my PS3 a lot more than my Xbox360...When I grab a 360 controller it feels like a new born baby in my hands. Playing with DualShock 3 especially fighting games feel so much better on PS3 versus the 360. And if most of you did not know that the PS3 controller is all digital....

  10. Last but not least...........I just got tired of my Xbox360 after playing games like MGS4, Uncharted, R&CTOD, R&CQFB, Heavenly Sword, Haze(yeah I said HAZE), The Last Guy, Folklore just to name a few I got spoiled. Its like eating lobster tail and filet Mignon for dinner every night for months and you come home and the wife makes you Oodles n Noodles with hot sauce!!!!!!! You would think that there is a glitch in the Matrix....................

NanoGeekTechTv presents: If MGS4 ever came out on Xbox 360

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be a massive game about 50GB in size. That is a lot of HD, digital sound, excitement, joy, anger and pure jubilation, stuffed into a 120mm disc.

I found this video if MGS4 was to come out on Microsoft Xbox360 this is how it would be. Very funny

Nano Opinion: MGS4 the Holy Grail found at Last!

Many people say you cannot buy happiness, that's absolute total bullshit. I paid about $500.00 for my personal piece of happiness on November 2006. And beginning June 12th the smile on my face will be a permanent fixture brought along by a shiny black box that does it all.

The Holy Grail for videogames has been the ability to capture the emotions of your on screen alter ego. With the introduction of the Sony PlayStation 3, the ability to capture the soul of a virtual character is becoming a reality.

The Sony PlayStation showed brief glimpse of character evolution with its first batch of Exclusives.
  • Uncharted developed by Naughty Dog did an excellent job breathing life into its leading character Nathan Drake.

  • Naughty Dog did an uncanny job of capturing Nathan Drake exploits throughout the game. Beside conveying Nathan's emotions the stunning visuals of Uncharted made the game a very memorable experience.
Naughty Dog's Uncharted was not the first game on Sony PS3 that evoked an emotional relationship with the main hero.

  • Heavenly Sword Sony's second exclusive did arguably one of the best jobs of capturing the soul of human emotions in a game. HS had it flaws, its major flaw being it was over way too quick.

Heavenly Sword (PS3) Trailer - video powered by Metacafe

  • After completing Heavenly Sword for Sony PS3 there is a heart felt connection with all of the main character in the game:Nariko is the main character of the game. She's 23 years old at the beginning of the game, Kai is the adopted sister of Nariko, and a member of the clan which protects the Heavenly Sword. Shen is both the father of Nariko and the leader of the clan that protects the Heavenly Sword, King Bohan is the main villain in Heavenly Sword. Bohan is a power crazed king(actor Andy Serkis plays King Bohan and he gives an epic ass performance), , and my favorite Roach is King Bohan's illegitimate son. Roach is mentally retarded and he often seeks his father's approval.
June 12th will bring forth a quantum leap in how we feel about the characters we play in any game. Metal Gear Solid 4 is poised to bring every aspect of Hollywood to the palm of your hands.

MGS4 will be drenched in HD audio and a visual digital fidelity never ever seen before. With the audio and visual immersion at extremes, Metal Gear Solid 4 creator Hideo Kojima( the Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Peter Jackson, Michael Bay and Wachowski brothers all rolled into one) will make us rethink how we feel about our virtual heroes for the reminding portion of our lives. The next generation of gaming begins June 12th 2008 only on Sony PS3...................
