Today Crytek released their new CryENGINE 3 all-in-one multiplatform development solution, now available for licensees along with a video of it in action below!

Video after the jump:

Press Release: Frankfurt a. M. (Germany), October 14th 2009 - Crytek GmbH (“Crytek”) is excited to announce that their latest all-in-one development solution CryENGINE 3 is now available for all developers.

CryENGINE 3 is the first game development platform for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, MMO, DX9/DX10 that also is truly Next-Gen-Ready - with scalable computation and graphics for all major upcoming platforms.

It provides the complete game engine to create AAA quality next generation games, and includes the redesigned CryENGINE 3 Sandbox™ level editor, a production-proven, 3rd generation “What you see is what you play” (WYSIWYP) - tool designed by and for professional developers.

CryENGINE 3 also introduces CryENGINE 3 Live Create™. It allows developers to work with a single editor, but see and play the results in real-time on PC, PS3 and Xbox360, hooked up to a single dev PC.

The engine takes care of the conversion and optimization of assets in real-time; enables instant, cross-platform changes to any part of game creation and as a result materially increases the speed, quality and significantly reduces the risk of multiplatform development.

“With CryENGINE 3 we are releasing the best development solution available today and tomorrow. With its scalable graphics and computation it is next-gen ready and with new features like CryENGINE 3 Live Create the best choice for game developers and companies developing serious games applications alike. It is the only game engine solution that enables real-time development and can ensure teams are able to maximise their own creativity, save budget and create greater gaming experiences.” said Cevat Yerli, CEO & President of Crytek.

“We’re delighted to launch CryENGINE 3 and we look forward to seeing what developers achieve with our all-new technology. CryENGINE 3 isn’t just about providing our trademark highest-quality graphics and our out of the box AI and physics for the first time on consoles – it also delivers real benefits to all disciplines in games development.

Programmers will create awesome new effects and gameplay; art, design and audio teams can play as they create with the fastest, entirely real-time WYSIWYP pipeline ever, materially reducing development time and risk – even producers, project managers and suits will love CryENGINE 3!

Of course, our international team of more than 20 dedicated support staff are available right now to help our licensees make the most of CryENGINE 3; at their studio or at one of our support centres around the world.” added Carl Jones, Director of Business Development CryENGINE.

CryENGINE® is the underlying technology for Crytek’s critically acclaimed games Far Cry, Crysis, Crysis Warhead and NC Soft’s recently released MMORPG blockbuster AION. It has already been licensed to a number of major game companies around the globe, including several recent serious games training and simulation projects. CryENGINE®3 is the underlying technology for the highly anticipated Crysis®2.

Sony recently announced a full list of games that will support Sony's new motion controls. It seems some current games will be supporting Sony's new tech. At TGS09 Capcom showed off Resident Evil 5 using Sony's new motion control tech, if that was not enough Sony went off and shown LittleBigPlanet being played with Sony's motion control. Check out the video after the jump:

Resident Evil 5: Director's Cut is currently slated for a Spring release. Hopefully Sony and Capcom will release an online update to add the feature to regular copies of the game so we don't have to spring for a whole new disc.

New Last Guardian Footage

It's not a dog, not a cat and it's not a bird so WTF is it? Sony ran a mini-press conference earlier today, just for White Knight Chronicles and Last Guardian. During that event, some new Last Guardian footage was shown.

It's at the end, past the Team Ico retrospective, I guess we will have wait until Last Guardian arrives Fall 2010. Video after the jump:

PS3 Slim unboxed Video

The Sony PS3 Slim is officially out for only $299.00. You now get a standard 120GB HDD that is easily replaceable, if 120GB is not enough for you. The biggest feature Sony deleted from the new PS3 Slim was Linux. Sarah Ewen of SCEE’s technology group had this to say:

“The reasons are simple: The PS3 Slim is a major cost reduction involving many changes to hardware components in the PS3 design. In order to offer the OtherOS install, SCE would need to continue to maintain the OtherOS hypervisor drivers for any significant hardware changes – this costs SCE.

One of our key objectives with the new model is to pass on cost savings to the consumer with a lower retail price. Unfortunately in this case the cost of OtherOS install did not fit with the wider objective to offer a lower cost PS3.”

Following the massive Sony GamesCom press conference confirming Sony's new model, GamesRadar US takes their new prize out of the box and into our monitors.

Behind the Scenes with SCEA Research & Development (Part 1)

During E3, Sony showcased a prototype for a new controller launching next year. I have a lot of questions, so Richard Marks and Anton Mikhailov sat down to give a recap of Sony new MoCo Technology, two of the main brains behind the new controller, to get some insight on the E3 demo, the back-story behind development, and the future of this new technology.

Redwood Gameplay Cancelled PS3 Game

Redwood Falls a PlayStation 3 exclusive zombie shooter from Kuju Entertainment – has officially been put on hold/canned/cancel for now. Utilizing the Unreal Engine 3, the title showed off a unique gameplay feature that allowed players to shoot off skin, muscle, and eventually down to organs and bone. Enemies would also boast the ability to regenerate body parts and tissue in real-time.

It would be nice if a talented first party Sony developer saves Redwood Falls, it looks like this can have potential if done right. Do you want to see Redwood Falls on Sony PS3?

NanoGeekTechTV presents: Tekken 6

Are you ready to rumble, Tekken 6 is getting very close. Tekken 6 is expected to hit stateside fall 2009.

-Every frame animation for every character has been changed.

-Some stages are multi-tiered (Cemetery, Fallen Colony) with new stage features and daylight/night-time transitions (Temple Grounds) depending on the stage.

-The game will have an online versus multiplayer mode.

-The customization system from Tekken 5 returns, with improved options and more items. The player is able to switch tops and bottoms between available character costumes, as well as substitute alternate pieces. There are common options shared by many or all characters including various items like glasses, hats, decorative swords and options for 'bare hands' or 'bare feet'. There are also character-specific items and pieces, as well as special items that unlock "item moves" once equipped.

-The game adds a new "rage" system, which gives characters more power when their vitality is low. When activated, a red energy field surrounds the character and their health bar starts to flicker red.

-The game also introduces "item moves", whereby characters use items to attack the opponent. For example, Bryan Fury uses a shotgun.

-The game introduces a new system called "Bound"; after moves that knock the opponent down in juggles, the opponent cannot tech roll. A new bound comes into play, extending juggle possibilities.

-The game also has an increased health bar compared to the previous games, due to the new features stated above which deplete a lot of health.

NanoGeekTechTV presents: inFamous: Second Island video

Sony's new open world superhero exclusive inFamous will hit the streets Spring 2009. The following video courtesy of GameStop features Nate Fox, game director for Infamous, introduces us to the next island of Empire City, the Warren. inFamous reminds me a little of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but a little more bad ass, better controls and most importantly fun.

There's never has been a great attempt to develop a superhero game for PC or any console. I hope with console technology rapidly advancing, we can see our childhood favorites realized in all it's HD glory. With inFamous and Prototype around the corner Sucker Punch and Radical Entertainment can final deliver a superior experience missing for what seems like a lifetime.

NanoGeekTechTV presents: Sony PS3 Flower

According the the Playstation official blog Flower will be hitting the PSN on February 12th, it's another great example of the creativity that is offered on the Sony PS3.

"Flower is a tough game to describe. We like to think of it as a video game version of a poem; an exploration into the tension between urban bustle and natural serenity. Players accumulate flower petals as the onscreen world swings between the pastoral and the chaotic."

NanoGeekTechTV presents: Opening Intro to Killzone 2

If you have just awaken from your coma and just crawled from under your favorite rock, there is a little game that will be arriving February 27th called Killzone 2. There's not too many things that get me excited, a little too laid back for that. But after watching the intro to Killzone 2 I have to officially put the fanboy hat on and say that this can be one of the greatest experiences in gaming history.

Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009 Part 2

The great thing about "Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009 Part I" as of right now all games mention are exclusive to Sony PS3. Sony is on the brink of delivering one of highest quality, AAA production, year in gaming ever.

Some may think that Sony is on the way out, but 2009 will prove that is not the case. With many more exclusive easing it's way into the public light and new rich features being teased, such as HD 3D gaming.

Here are some more reasons why "Sony will crush all in 2009"

1. Flower

Each level takes place in a different flower's dream as it sits on the windowsill of a dull city apartment. As the player progresses through the game, the apartment and city will gradually become more vibrant and colourful. The player guides a petal through brightly coloured, abstract fields by tilting the motion-sensitive controller, pressing any button on the controller gives a speed boost. The aim is to guide the petal into other flowers in the field, triggering an explosion of colour that spreads through the game world.

2. Team ICO Secret Project

Not much is known about the "Team ICO Secret Project" because it is a "secret". Team ICO usually puts a game out every four years and 2009makes it four years since Team ICO has shown any love for PlayStation. What ever it is it's going to be big and the world will stand still for a few seconds.

3. BBC Repoter "Secert Game"

Do not know anything on this one just like everyone else. I will take Mr. Darren Waters word that this "Uber Secret Super Duper Game"is not vaporware.

4. MAG

Zipper interactive Massive Action Game(stupid ass name I hope it's changed) is a multiplayer online FPS game that may be "Play to Pay". It will be the first console to offer a online FPS that will allow up to 256 players to slaughter each other for a small fee "maybe".

5.Wardevil: Unleash the beast within.

Not much is know about Wardevil beside it is still on it's way before year end. The game will be using a new gaming engine called RTE1080(real time). The WarDevil RTE 1080 has been developed to run at 1920X1080 HD and run 60FPS.

6. DC Universe Online.

Get ready to get your superhero on with all of your favorite DC Universe heroes and villains in Sony second MMO for PS3. This is technically not an exclusive because it is also available for PC.

7. EyePet

If you have a kid or is just pretty lonely human being, EyePet will be here sometime this year to be your virtual companion. There are no shotguns, no blood, no decapitations it's just pure virtual cuteness.

Sony is on the verge of delivering 17 exclusive games that will help change the way we look at current and future games. At the end of 2009 Sony's future will shine brightly again and will regain the throne as King and Queen.

Sony PS3 will crush all in 2009

Happy New Year and what a great year it's going to be a Sony PS3 owner. After CES 2009 Sony has teased the shit out of us with some incredible 3D HD PS3 games. But I digress, what will 2009 bring to the millions of PS3, Wii and 360 owners?

I really cannot say much about what Microsoft have under wraps because as of right now it looks very bleak. Nintendo in my eyes is dead, with an endless stream of shovel ware being propagated across the masses and Nintendo failing in every way not to bring back great classics.

We know for a fact that Sony has some great shit cooking up in secert and currently public information. Microsoft has publicly claim that they would not release a new console anytime soon because of the economy but by the end of this year that propaganda will go waist side.

This will be why "Sony PS3 will crush all" * warning: please try to refrain from screaming with joy, jealously or envy.

1.White Knight Chronicles

The ass stomping has begin a little early. WKC was released technically December 25th 2008 in Japan. White Knight Chronicles can be imported and played on any Sony PS3 worldwide. This year we have a chance to see a true next generation JRPG on a grand scale.

White Knight Chronicles will help satisfy those in need for their Final Fantasy fix. WKC has debut to a pretty good reception. White Knight Chronicles has sold 282,985 in about two plus weeks in Japan only. When WKC arrives States side late 2009 expect mass hysteria.

2. KillZone 2

There not much to say about KZ2 besides it will redefine the FPS experience for years to come. I will leave it at that and let you be the judge.

warning: If you only have a Xbox360 this video will make you trade it in tonight so watch with caution.

Please pick your jaw up it's unbecoming of you.

3.Demon's Soul

Demon's Soul may not be on many radars but as of right now that blip you hear in your head is it. Demon's Soul fits somewhere between Devil May Cry and Oblivion. In a medieval world, you play as a lone hero standing against the forces of darkness in the kingdom of Bokitaria. The region's ruler, King Alant, was clearly meddling in forces he didn't understand in an attempt to keep his northern kingdom prosperous before the inevitable happened: All hell broke loose.

4. Yakuza 3

This latest installment will continue the adventures of Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza and Yakuza 2. Yakuza for PS is a very popular franchise in Japan with a large following. There is not much known about story but hey it's from Sega and you are a bad ass in the Japanese mafia.

5.The Agency

Sony PS3 first MMO. The Agency pits Elite spies against terrorism, corruption, and rogue states around the globe. There will be different classes to choose from:

* Spec Ops: Both silent and deadly, the spec ops is about stealth, infiltration, disabling security, and such.
* Psy Ops: All about confusing the opponent, tricking and distracting them.
* Weapon Specialist: These guys/girls can use all weapons, and excel at doing so.
* Tactical Specialist: If you need someone to lay down suppression fire, breach doors, you'll need a tactical specialist.
* Field Tech: The field tech builds turrets, repairs armors and such, very compatible with the engineer classes in other First-person shooter games.
* Field Medic: As the title says, these guys/girls can patch you up in no time.

6.Infamous

Star Wars: Force Unleashed meets Grand Theft Auto but with far greater graphics. Infamous follows the story of Cole McGrath, a bike messenger and resident of Empire City. At the start of the game, a package that Cole was assigned to deliver causes a huge explosion that rips apart six city blocks, leaving behind a crater and Cole as the only survivor. The explosion has granted Cole several electricity-based powers, but he falls into unconsciousness, waking up two weeks later to find that Empire City has fallen into chaos; without police, gangs have taken over areas of the city, and a plague has infected many of the residents causing the city to be quarantined by the government.

7.Uncharted: Amongst Thieves

Uncharted: Amongst Thieves will land Fall 2009. The first Uncharted was one of the greatest gaming experiences on any consoles this generation. Nathen Drake is back this time he has 30% more power from his friend the CELL. Uncharted 2 looks really fucking incredible, the jungle will be replaced with war torn city landscapes and snow covered terrain

8.Quantum Theory

If Gears of Wars was to be on the PS3 this is what it will be "Quantum Theory "
Team Tachyon will be using the Ninja Gaiden Sigma PS3 engine from Team Ninja.

According to Keisuke Kikuchi Team Tachyon president: " So Tecmo, just thinking as whole, Team Ninja has already put out a game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, on the PS3, and internally we've already shared the knowledge, and the know-how, and we're very aware of the technological challenges that they had. So, in a way, we have already been exposed to that.

And moving forward, we think that we can push it to the next level with Quantum Theory. So it's not like we're completely starting from scratch, but the luxury of having a team, internally, that has already worked on a PS3 title, definitely has been a help.
"

8.Ratchet and Clank Future 2

There is not much know about story and expected date. Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty confirms a sequel for Fall 2009. The first R&CF:TOD came very close to a Pixar movie, guess what I am expecting from the second?

9. Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer

Is developed by French studio Quantic Dream for the PlayStation 3. The game is being directed by Quantic Dream's founder and CEO David Cage, who also wrote and directed the studio's two previous games, Omikron: The Nomad Soul and Fahrenheit.

There is no information about the story for Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer. All I have to say it looks good and sounds damn intriguing. Quantic Dream is a AAA developer that takes pride in there products.

10. God Of War III

Should I say more. God of War III may be the most epic experience to land on any console ever. And I leave it at that! video after jump.
